Pharmascience - Products FAQ Professionals PRODUCTS FAQ (PROFESSIONALS) What is the difference between Charcodote, Charcodote TFS and Charcodote Aqueous?Charcodote contains sorbitol (70%) as excipient, Charcodote TFS is composed of 1 part sorbitol (70%) and 3 parts water as excipients and Charcodote Aqueous contains only actived charcoal in purified water. Sorbitol has a laxative effect.Pms-Lactulose contains 80 mg of lactose/mL (1.2-2.4 g per 15-30 mL). Lactose is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to lactose or milk or those who are affected with the fructose/galactose malabsorption syndrome. Gastro-intestinal symptoms in most lactose-intolerant patients are not induced when small lactose amounts (0.5-7.0 g) are ingested (either from food or medication). Administering lactase (DairyAid®, Lactaid®, Lactrase®) to lactose-intolerant individuals can increase their tolerance to lactose.
