IoP: project: Donepezil and Memantine in Moderate to Severe Alzheimer’s Disease taught programmes | research degrees | international students | student life | fees and funding The trial will examine whether pharmacological treatment with donepezil, memantine or memantine and donepezil in combination is any better than a placebo (dummy) treatment in people with Alzheimer's disease who have reached the moderate to severe stage of illness. Researchers will look at whether the drugs alone or in combination have a positive effect on cognitive and non-cognitive function, activities of daily living and quality of life and will also consider the cost effectiveness of these treatments.
