How long for bactroban to heal infection (not staph)? - Yahoo! AnswersOk. It started out as a huge pimple/boil/whatev it was. I heard apple cider vinegar helps acne so I put it on there....perhaps too much. It s now infected. I went to the doctor today and she prescribed augmentin (2x/day) and bactroban cream (3x/day). I applied it 3 times now and have a bandaid over the infection. It s kinda green/yellowish but a small part of it dried up and fell off...
